Battle for Wesnoth for PC and MAC

Too small! Nice game - know it of old from the desktop version, but fonts are WAY too small to read on my Hudl2 and there's no way to zoom in at all. I can just about manage to tap the areas to move to with care, but it's a frustrating experience. Wish I'd tried the free version first, but I thought I knew the game. If some sort of zoom option could be added it would make a world of difference, but not playable for me at the moment I'm afraid.

How to use Battle for Wesnoth for PC and MAC

Now you can use Battle for Wesnoth on your PC or MAC.

Impressive Very well made. So far this is an excellent port to the Android... Update: on Hi res devices the fonts are extremely tiny, and hard to read. Can you fix?

Was skeptical at first It's by far my favorite game on Android. Well done and balanced. Plus interesting storyline and challenging scenarios. Played 100s of games on Android...this one may have spoiled me for all others.

It doesn't work on a Nexus 4 and Lollipop I'm sure it's very good, but it doesn't work on a Nexus 4 and lollipop, probably doesn't work on any phones running Lollipop. Last updated 2012? It's a dead app, so avoid!

Best game on android This is really an epic game with hours and hours of play time. It's widely recognised as one of the best free games on windows and linux and the interface works really well on android. I would like to see some of the pc and linux versions expandability on this version though.

Like Warlords of Old Ever since my 200mHz PC back in the day, I have been looking for a game with similar depth and strategy to Warlards 3: Reign of Heroes. I have finally found it in this amazing open-source game!! Works with my Asus Memo Pad HD7 and my LG G3!!

Great game for Tablet! I'm too old to see on phone I had this game for year on my phone and never played thru it, I am too old to see it on the small screen. Now I can see it on my tablet and love the game. My favorite game before this was Advanced Wars on the GBA. Please make more like this...!

Great game This is a fantastic game worthy of 5 stars and miles ahead of similar games I have tried. Only complaint is my eyes hurt after playing it so much!.

WAS Compatible! Playing campaign, everything OK, phone crashes (Unrelated). Go to reload game from App Store and NOW it's "incompatible"? I was playing it just now!! EDIT: The app was relabeled as compatible once again. I reinstalled.

Almost perfect. This is an excellent port of the game, but but the one thing I don't like about it is the way units are recruited. It's either a very long press (like 3 seconds) on a tile, or the menu button down in the menu bar. This might work will on phones, but on tablets it's annoying. Please add a recruit button I can press on without going into the menu. That would make this game even better for tablets.

NG for droid razor maxx or HD Nook Unfortunately Google does not quality control apps like Apple and so many apps are no as good as they appear and there is no way to tell until after you pay n download. The main problem is that there is no way to magnify the scale of the map so that in my phone it is hard to select play options on the screen. Also hard to read the text. On a bigger screen of the HD nook it still displays same size! Thus same problem. Wasted money as unplayable .

Unplayable on Samsung Galaxy S3 I bought this app for my new Galaxy S3. I know the game from desktop computers and there it is great. Here: Horrible. * Text/Fonts are unreadable small, like 1-2mm in height. * When selecting a weapon for attacks, there is no way to figure out which weapon is selected. * more smaller glitches =================== Game is unplayable. I gave the developer some time and sent him an email with problems. No reaction.

Best turn based strategy game on the market! I know my strategy games! Shining Force, Final Fantasy Tactics, Starcraft, Halo wars I could go on and on

Great game, but a bit laggy., also not supported on Nexus 5 with Lollipop Overall this is a brilliant game for lovers of turn based strategy with rpg elements. It has great depth of storyline and strategy. The only downside is it runs quite slowly/laggy (at least it does on my phone, Huawei U8800). If the developer could speed it up so that it ran faster it would be a 5 star game for sure, and probably one of the best turn based strategy games on Google Play. Had to drop my rating as it is not supported by my Nexus 5 wunning Lollipop. Please fix!

Sloppy port of a very good PC turn-based strategy RPG. This game is great on my PC. The strategy is deep, the story is engaging, and the replayability high. Unfortunately the devs seemed to have taken their money and ran as it's almost unplayable on a screen as big as my Samsung Galaxy S3. The text is tiny and making selections in game requires precision that thumbs lack. This is a game made for a mouse, and not optimized for a touchscreen whatsoever. If you have a lot of patience and don't mind straining your eyes for hours, this game is fun.

Balance thy name is Wesnoth One of the best turn based strategy games of all time and a great port to android. Absolutely essential if you are a tablet owner. This game has been under active development since 2003 and shows the incredible gameplay balance that can be achieved with 10 years of tweaking. Tons of fun but very challenging. Those who complain about the game being luck based just haven't spent enough time learning. Terrain, weapon type, enemy type, time of day, experience and when to withdraw must all be considered.

Could use a speed boost Love this game but wish they could speed it up because I'm issuing an Samsung galaxy S vibrant and it's lagging and freazeing. Also theres a glitch where if my screen goes off it will not come back proper. Desktop version is better and it's free. But mobile would be worth the price if I had a better phone.

Needs update: Commands not working! This is one of the best TBS games I've ever played and it's very nice to see it on Android. I slightly dislike the fact that ANDROTH SOFTWARE is charging for a game that is free and open source in other platforms though. Anyway, since we're paying, updates are urgently needed! New Android devices do not have the search button anymore. Therefore, the command for finding the next unit really require a replacement! I would suggest adding an in game button (simplest solution!). A few more updates are also required. Please, check how the game behaves in newer devices like Nexus 7 and Nexus 4.

Great game but is there a way I can get the non mainline campaigns on the mobile version?

old fan I've played the desktop version of BfW for years. bought this app immediately I saw it, and was only a little disappointed. Overall its a good version, the controls could be smoother. Great game for micro managers.

Terrible version Terrible version of the game, the text is small and you can't change resolutions as well as being unable to download more free levels. I recommend the one by Alessandro pira which solves all these problems... Great game but not this crappy version.

Keep coming back! Every time I stop playing this game I always come back to it. Definitely worth it!

Awesome but... Can you add a multiplayer mode where you CAN ONLY RECRUIT LORDS THAT COME FROM UR EMPIRE? If yes please let everybody know just asking ok? Oh an.. now my phone is making stuff glitchy

License verification failed On my nexus seven, license verification fails and I can't play. Also buttons seem really small anyway

Bad Doesn't have all the features of the free version for PC, and there are no plans for updating it. Just play on your PC for free. Buying a free game is a good way to support open source developers, but not when your going to get worse support than the free version.

Love the game, but it needs an update I've loved Wesnoth for years and was really excited to get it on my tablet, but it doesn't seem to work with lollypop. This was a huge disappointment to me, so I'd suggest trying the date no first to make sure it'll work on your system. I really hate to give this game one star, but until it works on my system, I can't improve the score.

How do you turn the sound off? I have sound muted on my device but it still plays and can't find any settings in the app. Seems nice otherwise. Edit: Found it! The settings menu is well hidden and a bit hard to find on the smaller screen of my phone

Great game! Needs an update I love this game, and have played it for hours on Linux. Still, it needs to stay current with the latest pc version, as I can't open my saved games from the pc. If there was any way I, as an embedded software engineer, could help I'd love to.

Needs multiplayer It's great apart from the fact that you can't use multiplayer and also sometimes the local multiplayer glitches out and you can't scroll down pls fix :(

Wesnoth Very challenging game. Lack of zoom to see the detailed graphics is probably the only complaint I have. Update: Has not been updated for Lollipop. App no longer functions.

Great port, but needs access to the additional downloadable content. Also this version is old which makes multiplayer very difficult, also no woses, plus some of the campaigns have been improved in the newer version. All round great game, highly recommend.

Great for strategy fans I have been looking for a strategy game with more depth than many of the 'cutesy', simple games that are out there for phones/tablets and this is it. Great game, still fun after having it a few months, and the storylines are good.

OK overall, can't write though The game works just fine and as expected. There is one problem though when one is in the multiplayer lobby and wants to write. I tried it and realised I just can't hit Enter. Can anyone fix it ? Thanks!!!

Nexus 10 Resolution Issues Much like Avadon, the game is unplayable on high-rez tablets. Lack of developer support (in both cases) is a very serious issue. As an avid supporter of the open-source PC/Linux version of Wesnoth, I highly recommend users save their money and direct it elsewhere. If the dev fixes this issue and properly handles screen sizes (there is zero excuse not to), I will promptly and happily update my single-star review.

Unreadable 4pt text. Impossible to play, can't read the text. Would give zero stars if possible. Too late to get a refund, too.

Fantastic game, when I updated my nexus today, the app will not open. Please update soon!

Great port of a great game Whoa! why can't I install this on my HTC One? This is Lame!

Expansion file instead download + multi It's too hard? A tablet interface wouldn't be bad also...

as good as the desktop version. This game has been a fav of mine for years. Nice to see it ported to Android. Would like to see the ability to use add-ons like the desktop version. All in all well worth the price.

Hmm Directly after purchasing, my account was hacked. Not sure, be wary.
