Better version than myboy, I really only left myboy because it made my backround music quiet I like listening to youtube while I play pokemon, please make it so the app doesn't make backround sounds quieter ( like by 20%) i also notice that it doesnt run nearly aswell as myboy when at x16, optimize that, then I'll give full 5 star
How to use John GBA – GBA emulator for PC and MAC
You can run all Android games and applications on your PC or MAC computer. Using a free software called Bluestacks, you don't need to purchase anything but games or applications it self if it isn't free.
- Download Bluestacks from this link.
- Install BlueStacks from installation file with following the on-screen instructions.
- Once Bluestacks is installed add your Google account in it.
- Type John GBA – GBA emulator in Search bar and install it.
Simple. Fast. It works well. Can't recommend it enough. I don't have a great phone and it still runs great. Doesn't drain battery. Doesn't heat up my phone.
Sometimes it has some frame issues making games like Metroid and Mega Man unplayable.
Amazing, i just wish it came preloaded with cheat codes for a bunch of popular games other than that very good work
Really good emulator, does its job perfectly well
Johm give me a refund please this isnt my thing i didnt know i would need a pc just refund this and i wouldnt have wasted 3 dollars please im just 11 and dont have much money and u dont want 3 dollars gone or just explain why my samsung galaxy s2 cant refumd this
John's emulators are arguably the best on the Google Play market.
There is a HUGE problem with the cheats. Some times you can enter them, then they disappear after some time. Then, sometimes it doesn't even let you input the codes and it says "error, code not valid."
I love this emulator, and I've been using it forever, but the last update or so has somehow made it uncompatiable with my moga wireless controller. I've been using it fine up until now. please bring moga support back.
emulates games very well. i played Pokemon for ~20 hours during some long road trips and it worked very smoothly with minimal hiccups. my only gripe is that since there is no tactile feedback like there is with physical buttons (on an actual Gameboy) it can be easy to misplace your fingers when trying to use the d-pad and this can be pretty annoying when playing a game that requires constant use and navigation of the d-pad like Pokemon. this is an issue because of the inherent nature of a touchscreen and not in any way indicting of this app though.
Cheats not working My cheats for Pokémon Fire Red no longer work. They worked fine awhile back, so I'm assuming an update messed it up. The codes save just fine, I don't get any kind of invalid message but they simply don't work during the game.
This is one of the best emulators I've ever used. Everything to the layout and compatibility is astonishing. However, I'm a little miffed on some audio problems. For an example, playing Metroid Fusion has some sound effects and music portions that get totally ruined by what sound like a spike in the sound or some something. I've checked multiple versions of the game and get the same results, making me think it's the emulator. If it isn't, then this is probably the best emulator an a mobile device, even for the small fee.
Cheat for pokemon leafgreen some invalid.. it use to work before update. The game crash all the time. Pls fix this
Won't accept any cheats of any kind. Tried inputting all listed kinds of cheat codes but all of them come up with "Cheat code invalid", I feel like I'm missing something here, someone help or fix? Cheers.
This emulator doesn't sound like it'd be great, but the dorky name is pretty much its only flaw. It plays nice with Android TVs and it's easy to use... unlike that other GBA emulator on Google Play. Well worth the modest price.
Just exactly everything I needed it to be. Clean and simple. My wife and I had a blast going down memory lane with these games. Thanks John. I've paid for two of your emulators now and consider them both money more than well spent. Thanks for keeping it smooth.
Always crash when using a Bluetooth control, no way I'm this life in going to use touch screen buttons for an emulator.
Awesome app! Is it possible to save states to the cloud, or the drive? A place that'll let you import the save states, and maybe even the game file? Thanks for your time
Doesn't work to well with reactionary games, like Summon Night, as there's a small response delay, but otherwise it's pretty brilliant!
Well just hope you can make link between gba emulator by Bluetooth or via wifi that my dream :D
The best GBA emulator out there in my opinion, now I can re-live my childhood games!
i bought this just to donate to developers
Would like to see aspect ratio for video added
i like it but there is an issue i have purchased this from the play store and recently it says (john gba is not licensed) it foes so every time i go offline and play
Improving. Well at least now with x 2 speed, it doesn't skip frame or lag anymore. If only u guys can fix x 4 speed or x8 with smooth gameplay like x 2 speed for an example, Quick But No Lag, that will be perfect, thx and keep it up.
Old school goodies! There are so many great games on GBA it's hard to pick what to play. Great app for all the fans of GBA.
