Oh my God could not purchase this game quick enough!!! What a blast from the past, can remember playing this in the arcades and on my commodore 64!!! The girlfriend just gave me a weird look can't stop playing this!!!! Bring back the classics!!!

How to use R-TYPE for PC and MAC

You can run all Android games and applications on your PC or MAC computer. Using a free software called Bluestacks, you don't need to purchase anything but games or applications it self if it isn't free.

Download Bluestacks from this link.
Install BlueStacks from installation file with following the on-screen instructions.
Once Bluestacks is installed add your Google account in it.
Type R-TYPE in Search bar and install it.

Now you can use R-TYPE on your PC or MAC.

Perfect Excellent repro of my favorite game from my younger days. So nostalgic, it feels like I'm blowing off homework.

Blast from the past Love this game. My only gripe are the controls. Touch controls are a little awkward in landscape and the pad is ok but using a d-pad seems far more difficult then a thumbstick would be. I know the game used a d-pad originally but on a mobile a thumbstick just makes more sense.

Majestic R-Type - one of the best and hardest shoot-em-ups ever written. This is a perfect port and even pretty good with the touchscreen controls. £2 well spent.

C burns Moga control won't work with this game it did work last year. Game got update then stop working. On galaxy s5 lollipop

Actually brilliant....but..... Snapped this up straight away 0.09p....bargin. My only criticism is the controlls. I guess it's just me, but I struggle with my finger on screen, I've not found a comfortable way to play as I find missing part of the screen by obstruction, is really distracting. I suppose it should be a five star review as it's a great game converted perfectly to mobile and a great nostalgic classic.

Great game, fiddly controls though. R-Type is an amazing old school shoot 'em up that is unashamedly difficult. Each death gets you satisfyingly closer to the next boss or unique stage, with the game never failing to add something new into the mix the further you get. The only flaw with this game is that it takes some effort to set up the controls and display so that it plays like the original and even then, thd controls are a bit hard to use on a touch screen.

Great port I had doubts about playing this on a touch screen, but this is great. Play with controls or just move the ship with your finger.

Takes me back I remember playing this on the SNES when I was a kid. It kicked my butt back then and still kinda does now. Lol still love it tho

Legit Love the game, I play it almost everyday and have no complaints about it except; what's the deal with the app cutting off my music every time I go to play it even though the music settings in the game are turned off? It drives me CRAZY, please fix that and the app will be 5 stars

Brings back memories The only problem is I can't play music while playing the game.

Controls are superb, graphics neater than r-typeII ...and it is way more unforgiving than r-typeII. Kudos!

Hasn't aged in 28 years Loved this on the arcade in the late 80's. Hoping for an emulation of Nemesis (Gradius) , then my life would be complete

Controls render it to frustrating Loved Rtype as a kid on the spectrum, it was always rediculously hard. The problem with this version is that you control the ship with your hand which means you can't see your ship and theirfore can't avoid enemy fire. Fatal flaw unfortunately.

Creative From 16 to 41 this game is a classic sure going to introduce it to my son... there is only One Type and it's not your type is R-Type

SoS This game is on the Moga pro power list but doesn't work when I get in to the game, only touch screen, the same R-type 2.

Very fun but a question Everything about the game runs and is what I want, but I can not seem to activate moga controls, any help please?

Pure nostalgia This is an awesome port. Still getting used to the controls, but it loads much faster than the last version I played on the zx spectrum!

enjoy this blast from the past this one takes a bit of time too master when you do though it's true classic shoot me up heaven enjoy this and its worth the cheap price I think any way

Dislike it Good arcade game with Google Play Game Features and good retro presentation, but no Google Cloud Sync, no immersive full screen, spams you with unsolicited e-mails, and, according to Clean Master, autostarts secretly when installing apps, consuming traffic and system resources.

Its good, works well enough. Runs smooth, touch is easier good break time blaster.

Retro gold The seminal 2d shooter. The bench mark for all 2d shooters now on android. Double plus points for Bluetooth controller integration.

Nice bit of nostalgia Prefer original controls, of course, but the touch controls work OK if you play on a tablet. You have to get over the psychological issue of losing all your upgrades each time you die, but was the same in the original, and, well, them 's the rules..

Brilliant game I never got to play the original R-Type, but I can safely say that this Android version is wonderfully addictive and a very enjoyable, solid game. Highly recommended to anyone looking for something more satisfying and challenging than the usual Candy Crush clones!

Samsung s6edge edge plus OK I think I am gonna cry , took me back like 25 years.Only one small problem at the right side of screen I see 2 black shadows,other then that..PERFECT!!!!!

Moga support does not work. Advertised as having support for Moga controllers but does not seem to be the case...

Memories! Well worth the 10p I paid for it. Cheaper than a go in the arcades :-)
