Viking Chess for PC and MAC

I wrote this review to say this, if you're saying "This is an overglorified version of chess and even then it plays nothing like it" or anything along those lines, it isn't just a game that some guy in the 21st century thought up. It links back as far as the 10th century and is more commonly known as 'The Viking Game'. My one issue is, like other reviews, the fact that text isn't showing up on the buttons. Overall a good game.

How to use Viking Chess for PC and MAC

You can run all Android games and applications on your PC or MAC computer. Using a free software called Bluestacks, you don't need to purchase anything but games or applications it self if it isn't free.

Download Bluestacks from this link.
Install BlueStacks from installation file with following the on-screen instructions.
Once Bluestacks is installed add your Google account in it.
Type Viking Chess in Search bar and install it.

Now you can use Viking Chess on your PC or MAC.

Excellent This game is excellent i love the wooden board and peices it looks absolutely beautiful. My only problems are that the A.I. is not the greatest, the A.I. thinking takes forever, and if you are new to this type of board game the tips (the lightbulb at the top) are the stupidest ideas for moves, there is little to none with the difference of difficulty between beginner-intermediate or intermediate-advanced (however the difference in difficulty between beginner-advanced is great), lastly it needs 2 player.

Why Christianize a simple strategy game Part of the flavor, part of the fun is the history of this game. The centerpiece represents Odin, the other white pieces are his einherjar, and the opposing pieces are the giants. It's Ragnarok played out on a game board. The history of the game is what makes it interesting, but you ruined that. It's just weird.

Nearly perfect Love the game, graphics clear and tidy. AI is fast and good. Would love to see 7X7 or bigger board variants added. Only bug is when the in or end game menu appears the text is not visible in the box's on my devices

..update to review. Start. Create game crash. Repeat ad nauseum. Shame as it looks beautiful. 08/29 update. Following on from personal messages from developer this game is now fixed and works a charm. Good game. Looks lovely. Great to see projects of passion on here not just advert heavy junk.

Brilliant game Failed to mention the pieces trapped between an opponent and the crosses where eliminated tho. And there is a problem with the menu in game that I cannot read the tabs. Fix that, and top marks.

The only issue I've found at the moment is once you're in a game/completed a game and the menu comes up there is nothing on the menu buttons to inform you what you're pressing, just blank buttons.

Viking Chess This app has great potential, the A.I seems about right for me, I started as an absolute beginner now intermediate and it has challenged me. Please fix bug at the end of game screen, I only see 2 blank buttons. Other than that I would give it 5*

I haven't even got to play it yet however I HAVE BEEN LOOKING EVERYWHERE FOR THIS! There is book series called thrones & bones and it is named after the main board game in the books. THIS ONE.

It might just be me, however I hate the Ai surrenders the move before you're about to win. Every single time I've almost gotten the king pinned the AI surrenders before I can kill it

You can't lose as white even if red captures your king it still let's you move it and win. It doesn't register the capture

Not too bad. Aside from the slow peice movement and slow computer thinking, its a nice app. I like the look and play.

Needs some work on the interface. Maybe 2 player mode .. but it's free without adds .. perfectly fine in my book

Terrible AI Even the advanced AI gives up is pieces commonly for no good reason. Terrible!

It froze on me I couldn't do anything and I really wanted to play it

One star for degrading the cultural value of the game, your weak AI and random bugs (after winning I was left with a menu containing blank choices)

Best Free Tafl Game This game has the strongest Tafl AI I've encountered yet. Great work!

Love the look but ai needs a little work also wish they would update to include the other many layouts of this game.

My Norwegian girlfriend showed me this game in real life. She was ecstatic when I found this in the app store. Great game, great app.

A non-launcher Installed and tried to load it. The game never did load, instead it crashed over and over again. Such a shame since it looks lovely. I uninstalled quickly after it kept crashing.

The computer always quits right before you win. Like, really? I have like one move left to win, but it won't let me have the satisfaction of winning. AI should never be able to quit a game.

Doesn't follow the original rules In the original King's Table, or Tablut, the dark pieces could go any where except the king's space. In this game they cant go into the corners. If you want authenticity don't get it.

It locked up on the first move. Can't play it.
